Every time people turn to the news
on, celebrities are being incarcerated.
As time progresses, celebrities seem to get worst. The decisions they make effect the younger
generations, which is why celebrities are bad role models for the younger
generations. Celebrities are bad role
models because they do drugs, carry weapons, and hurt other people.
One of the most controversial
things in the younger generation is the drug uses, which celebrities are not
being good examples for. Lots of people
looked up to Michael Phelps as an international superstar until he smoked
weed. Also, many girls looked up to
Miley Cyrus until children saw their idle smoking weed. Both of these celebrities were viewed in the
eyes of kids and teenagers that may not look at them the same. As the younger generation see their celebrities
doing drugs and sometimes not even getting in any kind of trouble the younger
generation thinks nothing is wrong with it.
When parents work hard to put principals about drugs in their kids’
lives, celebrities change it through their actions in interviews, shows, and
songs.
Many celebrities, believe it or
not, carry weapons all around with them and are not caught. Celebrities are
getting caught with weapons each and every day as well. For example, Lil Wayne
was caught with weapons plenty of times and never really got into any serious
trouble. Also, T.I carried weapons with him on his tour bus and he was incarcerated
for about 6 months and was released.
These rappers have been carrying weapons for most of their lives, and
the children hear about it and think it’s something cool to do because it was their
idle. Plaxico Burress shot himself in a club in New York and is now incarcerated
for a few years. This is not a good example but could scare the younger
generation to carry weapons but overall he still carried a weapon around which
the younger generation thinks it is ok, even though they could hurt themselves
or even others.
Weapons and drugs can lead up to
not only hurting themselves, but hurting other people as well. Hurting others does not always mean you do it
with a weapon but could be done with your hands as well. For example, Allen
Iverson, when he was 17, beat a pregnant lady with a chair due to racial slurs
she said. He also was arrested 2 years ago for supposedly organizing toddler
fights which he was not charged with.
Lil Wayne as soon as he was released from jail recently went and punched
Drake in the face. This is what our
younger generations look up to people hurting others over situations that could
be handled differently. Mario, beat his own mother up in an argument for no
reason other than them arguing. People get into fights each and every day
looking and learning from these celebrities that show them what to do and
exactly how.
Some people believe that
celebrities are good role models because celebrities give to charities. Although they give to charities, they still
break the law and set bad examples for young people. In order to make a change in celebrities, they
have to change what they do and say. Celebrities need to be asked in interviews
if how they can be more of a role model. Even though some set good examples the
celebrities that are giving bad examples are the most watched and need to be
put in to incarceration.
